BOYS BASKETBALL: Poly's new starters defy the odds

LONG BEACH - It would've been fair to assume this season would've been a rebuilding year for the Poly High boys basketball team after losing four starters to graduation.
Hardly.
Junior forward Roschon Prince - the only returning starter - and four players who combined to average just 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds off the bench last season have led Poly back to a special place.
After coming off a CIF Southern Section Division I-AA title and a stellar 31-2 record last year, second-seeded Poly (27-1) finds itself in tonight's 6:30 title game against top-seeded Mater Dei (28-2) at Anaheim Arena.
Go figure.
