Help for Fibromyalgia Pain From Clothing: Men's Tips Needed
09.05.11
To the 31-yr-old, French programmer. I am 31-yr-old American…never met a man as young as I am with fibro. It is good that you’re able to continue working, albeit with pain. My suggestion requires a little bit of sewing, which you could learn (if you don’t know how) or ask a friend, family member, or seamstress to help you. I also have problems with waistbands in casual pants that feel like they are trying to strangle me to death! What I have done is to cut a bit of the threading in the waistband, pull out the elastic, insert a fabric belt, (if one doesn’t already exist for the pants) and then sew up the cut portion of the waistband again. With this change I can now pull the fabric belt and tie it at a comfortable position, and untie or re-adjust as needed. Oh, forgot to mention, I get a pants size, one size larger than I normally wear as well. Hope this helps. I have adjusted pretty much all of my pajama pants so they are more comfortable, as I am bed-ridden now due to fibro.
