Shoes glorious shoes: Proceeds go to auxiliary

Customers are allowed to test drive the footwear to see how they feel before buying them.
This time of year, they bring sandals,clogs and Mary Jane-style shoes. But in the fall, they will offer items such as Ugg boots, said Michelle Fabanich of Shoe Roads.
"A lot are duty shoes with good arch support," Fabanich said.
Customer Service Manager Jeanne Dukeman said some shoes are fluid resistant or polyurethane coated. Dukeman said Shoe Roads usually brings three people along for sales, but recently they took six to the University of Kansas Medical Center because they have 6,000 employees.
"We have two teams and we go to hospitals in Illinois, Kansas and Michigan," Dukeman said. "It's a win-win. Employees get shoes that are good for them to be on their feet all day long (in) and the hospital (auxiliary) gets their portion."
