Rain boots put a spring in step

Rain, rain, don't go away.
Or, we won't be able to wear our fun boots.
Colorful footwear sloshing through the worst of spring showers can make it more bearable.
"We are seeing a lot of color for spring in rain boots which we have not seen before," says Hedy Gold, accessories director for Self magazine. "What's new is that there are so many varieties in terms of styles of boots. There are biker boots and boots with a wedge heel and ankle boots, color-block boots, different heights of boots, as well as the fun neon colors we've been seeing."
It doesn't end there. Boots are designed with heart details, stripes, floral patterns and graphic prints, which make them a must-have in anticipation of those rainy days ahead.
In 2011, 4.99 inches of precipitation fell in March and another 5.13 inches in April, according to AccuWeather.com in State College. Those figures are above normal for the time period, but we should expect more of the same this March and April, says Jack Boston, expert senior meteorologist for AccuWeather.com .
