Boot camp gets weekend off to great start
Lori Allison was present and accounted for as well. She managed to get her daughter, 9-year-old Kayla, out of bed and to the park, too, along with a nephew. Allison’s sister, Jill Potts, was visiting from Kentucky. Here she was giving her all as Jamerson coached her and 15 others through various stations that worked muscles that would be certainly sounding off later.
As workout mats, towels and water bottles were set in place, out on the basketball courts, Jamerson was busy mapping out a route for Owens, Allison and whoever else was going to show up for a challenge.
These women realize what Jameson herself knows: that this 7 a.m. time slot on Saturdays can be the only time to get in a meaningful workout before the ball games, yardwork, errands, shopping and house cleaning completely take over the weekend.
“We call this the ‘No Excuse Hour,’” Jamerson explained. “There is not a sporting event in town that starts at 7 a.m. If one does start at 8 a.m. they can leave a few minutes early. I tell them if they don’t get a workout in early, they can forget about the weekend.”
