Uggs, Northface, leggings: recipe for disaster
14.04.11
We all have seen on campus walking around in their overpriced boots, jackets, orange skin and overdone make up, but why? When did showing the world your legs, wearing Bear Paw boots and a silly jacket become the latest trend? I’m not sure which is worse, the hipster or the jersey girl.
Let us examine the total cost of this outfit for a moment. Ugg boots: $120 to $360, Northface jacket: $100+ and leggings: $20-$30. The fact that you are still failing Economics? Priceless.
Girls wear these outfits to class everyday without a care in the world and no one says anything about how stereotypical it has become to see this on campus. As Zachary Skorinko puts it, “It makes them look like a wanna-be ninja crossed with an Oompa Loompa.”
Others say, “Leggings are not pants, do not treat them as such.” Donna Post said, “My grandma could make me a better jacket than that.”
If so many people think the latest fashion trend is silly, then why is it everywhere? A group of girls on north campus said it’s comfortable, it’s easy to wear and matches with everything. When the weather is cold, it keeps them cozy. Other girls put it as, “Well, if we can afford to buy it, why not wear it?”
